Shuangxi Station, located in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, is a second-class stop on the Yilan Line. It was established on October 21, 1923, originally named “Shuangxi Parking Yard.” In 1924, when the line began service, it was renamed “Dingshuangxi Station,” and in 1978, it was rebuilt in reinforced concrete. From Shuangxi Station toward Mudan lies the famous “Mudan Slope,” a 1.6% grade popular with railway photographers. Electric locomotives are kept here for backup and emergencies. At the entrance, a “Shuangxi GT-Go” green travel map offers QR-code access to ten local cultural and historical sites.
