種仙草，從不是插下幼苗、靜候採收這般簡單。在多雨微潮的雙溪山城，天候有其性情，土地有其脾氣。為了守護腳下這片純淨，仙草媽媽引甘洌山泉灌溉、徒手彎腰除草除蟲，順應著四時節氣迎著日光翻曬。每一次躬身照料與耐心等待，都在以歲月讀懂土地的密語。

那一身被陽光曬得黝黑的仙草媽媽，承襲著老一輩的質樸與耐性。她在山雨與泥土芬芳中細心揀選整季仙草，趁著晴好天候在曬穀場充分鋪曬，再循古法慢火久熬，以天然蒟蒻凝結成滑嫩微Ｑ的仙草凍。那份無法被機器取代的專注，以及對土地的深厚情感，值得被更多人細細品味。於是，注腳雙溪走入田埂、記下這些深刻的生活剪影。我們串聯山村裡的當季友善物產、傳承自媽媽阿嬤的手路菜，以及常民生活的記憶微光，將這份風土細細熬煮成專屬雙溪的慢行風景。

Every Stalk of Mesona Seals the Terroir of the Mountain Town and the Sweetness of Time

Growing mesona has never been as simple as planting seedlings and waiting for the harvest. In the rainy, misty mountain town of Shuangxi, the weather has its moods, and the land has its temperament. To protect the purity beneath her feet, the "Mesona Mother" irrigates her fields with sweet mountain spring water, bends down to weed and remove pests by hand, and sun-dries the harvest in rhythm with the seasons. Every bend of the back and every patient wait is her way of deciphering the earth's quiet whisper through time.

Sun-kissed and weathered, she carries the simplicity and enduring patience of the older generations. Amid mountain rain and the fragrance of soil, she meticulously sorts the season’s harvest, spreads it across the drying yard under clear skies, and simmers it slowly over low heat using traditional methods—blending it with natural konjac to yield a smooth, tender mesona jelly with a gentle chew. This irreplaceable dedication and deep bond with the land deserve to be savored by many more.

Drawn by this spirit, Note Shuangxi stepped into the fields to document these poignant moments of daily life. We bring together the mountain village’s seasonal, eco-friendly produce, heirloom recipes passed down through generations of mothers and grandmothers, and the subtle flickers of everyday memories—slowly simmering the local terroir into a leisurely travel experience unique to Shuangxi.

Visiting Shuangxi is about more than tasting a bowl of cool, silky mesona jelly. It means following the lingering aroma back to its roots—discovering which verdant peak it called home, seeing the calloused, gentle hands that tended it, and understanding why these artisans still choose the most demanding path to care for the earth.
